The Adare Parish Pastoral Council mission statement reads: We are believers who come together as a welcoming Christian community to worship, witness and minister to one another and to the people of our parish.
The Parish Pastoral Council was founded in recent years and is a leadership group through which priests and people work together as partners in furthering the mission of Christ in Adare. It is a representative body in which the diversity of the parish community is reflected. It is a means whereby all parishioners can take part in discussions that relate to the parish, its mission and its future development.
This group meet on a monthly basis in the Parish Centre. The Pastoral Council is represented in the local pastoral area group of parishes: Cloncagh/Knockaderry, Granagh/Ballingarry, Croagh/Kilfinny and Rathkeale.
The Parish Pastoral Council hopes to put into practice a model of church which the Second Vatican Council articulated and for which it yearned.
